Inside Pitch

October 1, 2012

Well, HoundsNation, in my last Inside Pitch I told you that our one and only goal is to open our Ballpark in 2014. I am happy to tell you that the accomplishment of that goal is looking very, very good.

Today, VIP Sports & Entertainment and the Loudoun Hounds announce that we will build the Ballpark at the One Loudoun development along the intersection of Route 7 and the Loudoun County Parkway – and we are on track toward opening in 2014!

As we have said over the past several months, timing has been the paramount issue. For over a decade, VIP S&E has been focused on bringing professional baseball to Loudoun – and by shifting the location to One Loudoun, we have found the path that leads to a first pitch in 2014. While we wish our friends at Kincora the very best in their endeavors, the One Loudoun project is ready today for our Ballpark and will be a great home and partner to VIP. As you’ll see in this month’s NewsHound, One Loudoun calls itself “Loudoun County’s New Downtown” and we are proud to be a major component of this great experience.

As it has been since our birth, your Hounds remain completely committed to the mission of providing the ultimate entertainment experience to this region with affordable, family-oriented fun for all. As we progress further into the process, we will have a better feel for exact dates of major events and we will share those as soon as possible – but you can expect a Ceremonial Groundbreaking, a second Hounds FanFest and many more milestones in the highly anticipated months to come.

Shifting our Ballpark to One Loudoun is a very exciting step in this journey to bring a sports and entertainment destination to Loudoun County and create a real sense of place at our area’s premier address. The essential facts of the Ballpark which you’ve already heard all about, including its size, amenities, event offerings and the fact that it is financed entirely privately, with no public monies whatsoever, remain true.

Never have we been more excited about our future than we are today. I want to send very special thanks to all the fans of HoundsNation for their patience, support and remarkable enthusiasm for their Loudoun Hounds. Good things (like the Hounds) come to those who wait – and right now, good things are rounding second base and racing for third. We’ll be bringing it all home very soon!

Respectfully,
